This house has an area of 200 square meters and an interior design that combines traditional Mexican elements with a contemporary design. The plot consists of an area with special dimensions (5 x 40m) which causes difficulties for design. The principle of the project is to clearly compare the present and the past of the building. The strategy involved the use of new elements with a contemporary character that were compatible with the original historical elements of the period in which the house was built. The ground floor consists of a main room, a wine cellar, a bathroom for guests, an inner garden, a dining room and a kitchen. The ground floor is a private area consisting of two bedrooms, each with a bathroom and connected by a pedestrian bridge overlooking the central garden. The original walls and reinforced concrete floors were preserved. The color palette consists of neutral tones such as gray and white to emphasize wall mosaic, furniture and vegetation. The inner garden functions as a green lung, providing natural lighting and necessary ventilation of the house. The interior is also integrated by means of large windows that can be fully opened at the rear.
