Fit a small circle

LYCS Architecture designed the entire layout and decoration of the apartments for students who aim to provide a solution to the rental problems in high-density cities for the Hong Kong campus. To confront this dilemma, architects and designers have found a new and affordable way of renovating 48 student apartments in a hotel. The living space of each room is about 27 square meters, an existing section between the two rooms has been removed, instead a high central desk is used for studying or socializing. In this limited space, each square meter is fully used and optimized, the bed is designed to be on the work desk. Each bed has a steel access ladder, blackout curtains for privacy, electric wall outlets and a reading lamp. With the curtain closed, students also benefit from their own personal space, including lockable shelves and drawers, a separate luggage area and a small wardrobe. Each apartment also has a bathroom, kitchen and other necessary amenities.
